Athena Selected As PVUUC (SJF's old name) Patron for 2008-2009

SJF's 2nd Annual Patron Auction has chosen a new Patron for the coming year, After four heated rounds of bidding, Athena was the run-away winner of this year's Patron Auction! Hundreds for non- perishable food items were donated to Garland's New Beginnings Center and the Good Samaritan Food Bank, as well having raised several hundred dollars for SJF.

Athena is the Greek Goddess of Wisdom, the Patroness of Weaving and other Crafts, as well as strategy. She is the shrewd companion of heroes and the goddess of heroic endeavour. She is the patron of Athens, which built the Parthenon to worship her.
