Faith Development Committee Structure

History – Faith Development committee oversees our service / ritual as well as our adult education classes and covenant groups.

1. Chair – While the Board of Directors appoint the chair if the committee as it is common for SJF committees, it is the policy at SJF to select the chair for the Faith Development committee from one of the Ritual Team Leaders.

2. Committee make up – The Faith Development committee will be made up of The Committee Chair, the SJF Board President, the liaison with the facilities committee and an odd number of at large members.

3. At large members – The Faith Development committee shall be elected from the Ritual Team Leaders and by the Ritual Team Leaders. They shall always appoint an odd number of members. The size and make up of the committee shall be determined by the Ritual Team Leaders. Election shall be held during the Ritual Team Meeting closes to but not less then 30 days prior to the new church year.

4. Ritual Team Leaders – To become a Ritual Team Leader, one must be an active member of SJF, have successfully completed EIR 501 and have requested membership as a Ritual Team Leader and been approved by the standing Faith Development committee.

5. Appeal of membership denial – If an active member of SJF is denied Ritual Team Leader status by the Faith Development Committee, they may appeal the decision to the Board and failing that to resolve the issue to the congregation using the methods prescribed for appeal of a committee or board decision as stated in the committee policies.
