Long Range Plan

Intention is an important concept to our Fellowship. It is at the root of all that we do. It is with this in mind, that we have committed to not only having a Long Range Plan but to treat it as a living document that is an ongoing symbol of this Fellowship's intent.

This current version of the Long Range Plan (PDF) was approved in the February 14, 2010 Congregational meeting. The plan covers the period from the Fellowship year 2009-2010 through 2013-2014. We will next review this as a Fellowship at the 2010 Retreat in the Fall.

The heart of this plan is the Strategies and Plans of Execution. Below is an update as to where we are in that execution.

Improve quality and quantity of Worship Services

We have improved quality dramatically. We are working to add a second Sunday service.

Expand Adult Educational Opportunities

We have done this and will continue to do so

Explore UU Ministry Possibilities

We did hire a student minister for the 2009-10 church year and have enjoyed having her with us.

Partner with community social, and action groups

We are working on these relationships one group at a time.

Invest in training lay staff

Membership growth - reach at least 75 members by 2013-14

Innovative marketing practices supporting growth at SJF

Web site is being redone

Explore proven UUA growth strategies, apply where applicable

Financial growth - increased generosity through abundance mentality

Transform from family-style congregation to fellowship

We have formed our committees and are working to get used to this new paradigm.

Library Outreach

This program has been started and we are working to expand the library's hours

Outreach to groups which we have something to offer

• We have a program of beginner classes now available.
• We are expanding our outreach with new covenant groups
• We have completed and applied for the Welcoming Congregation program

Approach toward Rental Opportunities

We have one on going rental agreement with the vendor Wise Woman's Cupboard and are working toward others.

Building Expansion

Establish Lay Chaplaincy

We had our first Lay Chaplain during the 2009-10 church year.

Address Behavioral Issues
